Year 5 had a brilliant Rio Carnival week. We made our own colourful carnival masks and head dresses and enjoyed learning samba dance with Miss Lazzeri. On the final day, we enjoyed a samba drumming workshop and loved performing what we learnt in a special assembly to our parents.

Some amazing writing from George today. I really enjoyed reading this.
We learnt so much about healthy eating this week and focussed particularly on breakfast. We started the week with a cook off in assembly between Mr Lambert and Mrs Moossun. In class we discussed how food choices impact upon our health and finally we all enjoyed a breakfast at school. Many thanks to Waitrose Lymington and to Mel in the kitchen for providing us with fruit, bread, jam and milk. We really enjoyed our healthy start!
The fundamental articles of faith in Islam are to believe in Allah, his prophets, his books, the angels, the afterlife, and destiny/divine decree. Muslims believe that faith in the unseen world created by Allah is thus a required element of faith in Islam. Among the creatures of the unseen are angels, which are mentioned in the Quran as faithful servants of Allah. In Year 5 we have been creating depictions of unseen angels using watercolour.
Years 5 and 6 had a fantastic morning enjoying their APE (Attitude, Presentation and Effort) rewards!
